Free Hosting...continued So, if you are putting up a church site for example, and you find the idea of advertising gambling or soft core to be offensive, be forewarned that free hosting may not be an option for you since you may well get ads of that nature placed on your site. I have accumulated about seven years of experience with free web hosting. I have relied on it as a consumer/webmaster, and I've worked for and been associated with companies that have offered free hosting as part of their business model. The sad truth is that many of the folks working in the trenches to offer you free hosting really want you to have a good experience as a subscriber. But, the financial pressures suffered by public companies (or any company funded by investors for that matter) often sell out in the end in order to get a buck, any buck. Maybe you think I'm jaded, and the you'll dimiss my advice as biased. Before you do, let me simply say - "buyer" beware. |
